ARTIST STATEMENT
EMOTION! Emotion informs my work - it is the foundation on which I begin a series. I am an artist that is a work in progress just like the pieces I create in diverse, unpredictable styles. I love to mix things up - to experiment - to see a juxtaposition of style and media as I build a piece - layering complex finishes on metal, acrylic panels, wood, canvas.
I strive to portray a feeling of strong attachment - a trigger that brings to the fore a grand love, an amazing moment, a milestone, a memory, an experience that calls out to be seen and recognized. I became an artist to paint or photograph that which is poignant, happy, beautiful to me for all the world to see. I have a passion for noticing moments and telling their stories. The medium delivers my message.
